The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Yavapai County in west central Arizona...

* Until 145 AM MST.

* At 1039 PM MST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
  heavy rain across the warned area. Between 1.5 and 3 inches of
  rain have fallen. Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, normally
           dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets and
           underpasses as well as other poor drainage and low-
           lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  McLendon Peak, Ives Peak and Cottonwood Canyon.

This includes the following highways...
Highway 93 between mile markers 157 and 168.
State Route 96 between mile markers 8 and 13.

This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers...
  South Fork Santa Maria River, Placeritas Creek, Santa Maria River,
  Tank Wash, Peoples Canyon, Little Shipp Wash, Quail Spring Wash,
  Cottonwood Creek, Black Canyon Wash, Waterman Creek, Bridle Creek
  and Date Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Flooding of washes and creeks will occur, some dirt roads will
become muddy and impassable. Paved roads and underpasses could
become flooded as well.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
