Area Forecast Discussion
National Weather Service Flagstaff AZ
130 PM MST Sat Jun 7 2025

.SYNOPSIS...Warmer and mainly dry conditions continue into next
week. Expect generally light winds through the weekend, gradually
increasing through the week.

&&

.DISCUSSION...A fairly mundane pattern is in store for much of
the forecast period, with high pressure largely in control. Mainly
dry conditions, warming temperatures, and typical afternoon
breezes are expected each day as a result.

With some lingering mid-level moisture and a deep boundary layer,
there is a slight chance for some isolated showers or sprinkles
through early next week. The most likely days, given current
guidance, look to be Monday and/or Tuesday as a weak shortwave
brushes Arizona to the north. The sub-cloud layer still looks to be
fairly dry however, so any meaningful rainfall looks to be extremely
unlikely. Nevertheless, PoPs were increased over the higher terrain
to at least mention the potential. This potential looks to decrease
by the middle of next week as increasing subsidence aloft will act
to inhibit any convective development.

&&

.AVIATION...Saturday 07/18Z through Sunday 08/18Z...VFR
conditions and mainly clear skies are forecast. Winds southwest
to west at 5-15 kts during the day, light and variable terrain
driven overnight.

OUTLOOK...Sunday 08/18Z through Tuesday 10/18Z...Look for VFR
conditions. Winds generally light and variable at 5-15 kts.

&&

.FIRE WEATHER...Sunday and Monday...Warm and dry. Minimum relative
humidity values ranging from 10-20% with southwest to west winds at
5-15 mph gusting to 25 mph each day.

Tuesday through Thursday...Warm and dry. Minimum afternoon relative
humidity values of 10-20% are forecast. Look for southwest to west
winds at 5-15 mph gusting to 25 mph on Tuesday, increasing to 10-20
mph gusting to 30 mph on Wednesday and Thursday with near critical
fire weather conditions developing.
