.DISCUSSION...

Unseasonably cool today and Wednesday with high temperatures 15 to
20 degrees below average.  Mostly cloudy today and Wednesday, though
some clearing areas will occur.  Predominate sky cover cloudy
northern areas to partly sunny south of I-94.  A few showers will
occur today especially northeast North Dakota and northwest
Minnesota and temperatures favor both rain and snow showers.  Very
light amounts though....trace to 0.02 inch.  Northwest winds today
10-20 mph, gusts 25 mph and lighter winds on Wednesday.

There is potential for critical or near critical fire weather
Thursday and Friday. There is high confidence in very dry air mass
moving into our region during these days, with RH values into the
20s, perhaps teens. Confidence is not high, however, in winds.
Current forecast shows west to northwest winds 10-20 mph Thursday
and 10-25 mph from the northwest Friday. However, if deeper mixing
occurs, winds could be 5 to 15 mph higher. Front moves through late
Friday / early Saturday as well.
