Scattered thunderstorms are expected in west central Georgia between 3 PM and 9 PM this afternoon and evening. More isolated storms may occur elsewhere in the state during this time window. Severe weather and flooding are unlikely today. Heat index values are expected to exceed 100 in areas along and south of the I-85 corridor this afternoon. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Saturday through Thursday... Heat index values above 100 degrees are expected across parts of north and central Georgia today through Wednesday, with the potential for values between 105 to 110 degrees Sunday through Wednesday. Isolated afternoon and evening thunderstorms will continue in north and central Georgia through next week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation will not be needed through tonight. $$
