A Heat Advisory remains in effect for much of north and central Georgia through this evening due to heat index values in the triple digits. Please exercise caution if spending extended periods of time or doing strenuous activity outdoors. Numerous strong to severe thunderstorms are expected this afternoon and evening across the area. These will be capable of producing damaging wind gusts, quarter-size hail, frequent lightning, and locally heavy rainfall. Repeated rounds of storms with efficient rainfall rates could lead to localized flash flooding in urban and poor-drainage areas. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday... Isolated PM thunderstorms across south-central GA each day through mid-week, then across most of the area by late week. Following cooler weather early in the week, temperatures will gradually warm back to above normal by mid to late week. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not requested but spotters are encouraged to submit reports of severe weather through the web by going to weather.gov/atlanta.
