.DISCUSSION...
Good morning, Amy. High pressure will lead to warm conditions over
the burn site with near zero chances of rain. With RH values of 95
percent or greater to start the morning and nearly calm surface
winds, patches of fog may be present around the site. Any fog should
dissipate by 10 AM, and give way to mostly sunny skies through the
remainder of the day. A high temperature of 90 degrees is expected
at around 4 PM today, during which time the heat index will peak
around 102 degrees. Relative humidity values at the burn site will
drop to less than 60 percent by noon and below 50 percent between 3-
6 PM. The minimum RH is forecast to be 47 percent.
The influence of the high pressure over Georgia will also promote
light winds. 20 ft winds will be nearly calm at ignition time,
becoming NE at 2-3 mph by noon and shifting to E at 2 PM through the
afternoon. Transport winds be variable for much of the morning, and
will become NE at 5-7 mph by 11 AM and shift to E at 6-8 mph by 1
PM. Mixing heights rising to over 7000 ft in the peak heating hours
this afternoon will contribute to ADI values between 50-60 during
the mid to late afternoon today. Winds will diminish after 5 PM this
afternoon, becoming light and variable once again this evening and
overnight.
RH values will be slightly lower during the morning on Wednesday
compared to today, though sparse, patchy fog cannot be ruled out in
the pre-dawn hours given the light winds. Please feel free to
