Generally quiet weather is expected through midday before scattered thunderstorms are again expected to develop during the afternoon and early evening. Before any thunderstorms occur, temperatures will be on the hot side with highs in the mid 90s and heat index values reaching as high as 100-102 degrees during the afternoon. Once scattered storms develop, there will be some potential for strong to severe thunderstorms. The primary concern with these storms will be strong wind gusts, though hail up to dime to quarter size is also possible. Frequent lightning and heavy rainfall are also likely in these storms. Storms are most likely between 4 PM and 10 PM before diminishing. Looking ahead to Friday, expect very similar weather. Temperatures will likely taper lower a bit more on Friday, with highs more likely in the low 90s and heat index values in the mid to upper 90s.
