Meanwhile, a frontal boundary will slowly approach the state from the north. Though humid, chances for rain through mid-morning will be 20% or less. Scattered thunderstorms are expected in the late morning and afternoon, with chances largely between 30-50% with the best timing between 2 PM and 10 PM. Organized severe weather is not expected today, though with ample instability, a few storms may become strong and capable of producing locally heavy rain, frequent lightning, and gusty winds (20-35 mph). Outside of storms, winds will be light and variable to start the morning, becoming S at 3-5 mph during the afternoon. Temperatures will be in the upper 80s to low 90s through the afternoon, with a high temperature of 92 degrees between 3-4 PM. Heat index values will range from 95-100 degrees this afternoon, then drop below 90 by 7 PM. Rain chances will gradually diminish after sunset, though Numerous thunderstorms will become likely during the daytime on Saturday as the frontal boundary draws closer to the event site, with the most likely timing between Noon and 10 PM.
