EVENING...
Windy and dry conditions today will lead to critical fire weather
concerns, resulting in a Red Flag Warning across the area. Expect
minimum relative humidity values in the 20-25 percent range for
the bulk of the area with a few spots in northwest Georgia
perhaps a bit higher in the 25-30 percent range. Northwest winds
will only gradually slacken a bit through the afternoon and
largely remain elevated at 10-15 mph with gusts up to 25 mph or
locally higher before dropping off after sunset this evening.
On Wednesday, similarly dry relative humidity values are
expected, though winds will fortunately be a bit lighter at
8-12 mph and gusts 15-20 mph, which will likely preclude another
Red Flag Warning. However, widespread Fire Danger Statement
criteria will likely again be met.
