.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values remain outside of critical thresholds.
Moisture remains high across north and central Georgia today
keeping Min RHs well into the upper 40s and low 50s. Isolated to
scattered thunderstorms are expected during the afternoon and
evening across all of the fire zones. A few storms may become
strong with gusty winds and locally heavy rainfall. Rainfall
rates may exceed 2 inches per hour. Winds generally out of the
west through the end of the week, sustained at 5 to 10 mph during
the afternoon and less than 6 mph overnight.
Temperatures will continue to rise through the rest of the week
into the mid to upper 90s. Heat Index values in the triple digits
and a heat advisory may be needed for the southern zones
including the Oconee National Forest as early as Thursday.
