No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
Winds and relative humidity values will remain outside of critical
thresholds.
Mostly cloudy to overcast skies are expected to persist across much
of the forecast area this afternoon on the northwest side of Imelda.
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms will be likely across
north Georgia this afternoon and early evening as moisture
associated with Imelda gets wedged into the mountain areas. Rain
chances will be 20-40 percent to the north of I-20 and progressively
lower to the south. With ample moisture across the area this
afternoon, minimum RH values will range from 55-75 percent across
all but far northwest Georgia (which will be slightly drier). Drier
conditions will prevail on Wednesday and through the end of the
week, with rain chances less than 10 percent each day. Minimum RH
values on Wednesday will range from 35 percent in south-central
Georgia to near 50 percent in the far northern tier. Winds today and
Wednesday will be NE at 6-10 mph with gusts of 15-20 mph in the
afternoon.
