.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather concerns are expected at this time.
Relative humidity values remain outside of critical thresholds.
Scattered thunderstorms are forecast to develop across the area
this afternoon as a front approaches north Georgia. Showers and
thunderstorms are expected to become more widespread in north
Georgia (including the northern zones) overnight into Thursday.
Some of these storms will be very efficient rainfall producers
which could lead to flash flooding concerns.
Minimum RH values are forecast to range from 50-65 percent this
afternoon, though some areas in east-central Georgia may drop as
low as 45 percent. Winds this afternoon will be S/SW at 10-15 mph
with gusts of 25 mph in areas south of I-85 and SW between
5-10 mph to the north. On Thursday, minimum RH values will range
from 55-75 percent, with some slightly lower values possible in
east-central Georgia once again. RH will be highest in north
Georgia amid the most widespread rain. Winds on Thursday will
shift to NW at 4-8 mph behind the front in the far northern part
of the state, including the northern zones. Winds elsewhere will
be SW at 6-12 mph.
