.DISCUSSION...
No hazardous fire weather conditions are expected at this time.
Patchy dense fog and any lingering rain showers will be the story
early this morning. A frontal boundary will be stalled across
portions of North Georgia and will be the focus for additional
showers and thunderstorms primarily across Central Georgia this
afternoon into the evening. Additional accumulation are expected to
be less than half an inch. Minimum RH above 55% is forecast for
today. Winds may briefly turn to the NW in North GA where the front
has passed but will predominately be SW at 5 to 10 MPH. A stronger
cold front moving through the area on Sunday will switch winds back
to the NW and increase speeds to 10-15 MPH with gusts up to 25 MPH,
potentially up to 30 MPH at the highest peaks in NE Georgia.
Flurries and light snow showers remain possible over the higher
elevations in the north Georgia mountains overnight Sunday into
Monday morning (sunrise).
