...FLOOD WATCH IN EFFECT FROM 8 AM EDT THIS MORNING THROUGH LATE
SATURDAY NIGHT...

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues to be
  possible.

* WHERE...Portions of central and east central Georgia, including
  the following counties, in central Georgia, Baldwin, Bibb,
  Bleckley, Crisp, Dooly, Houston, Jones, Peach, Pulaski, Putnam,
  Twiggs, Wilcox and Wilkinson. In east central Georgia, Glascock,
  Greene, Hancock, Taliaferro, Warren, Washington and Wilkes.

* WHEN...From 8 AM EDT this morning through late Saturday night.

* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers,
  creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations.
  Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - Heavy rainfall from slow moving thunderstorms will be
    possible today and tomorrow. Widespread totals of 1-3" are
    expected, but some locations where storms stall may receive
    in excess of 5" of rainfall, much of it falling within a
    short time period. This could lead to flash flooding of small
    rivers, creeks, and streams, as well as flash flooding within
    more urban areas.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

You should monitor later forecasts and be alert for possible Flood
Warnings. Those living in areas prone to flooding should be prepared
to take action should flooding develop.
