793 FXUS62 KFFC 121131 AFDFFC Area Forecast Discussion National Weather Service Peachtree City GA 631 AM EST Wed Nov 12 2025 ...New 12Z Aviation Discussion... .KEY MESSAGES... Updated at 629 AM EST Wed Nov 12 2025 - Dry weather and gradually warming temperatures are expected through the week, with temperatures steadily rise back into the 70s by the end of the week. - There are some indications that an approaching system could bring another round of showers and thunderstorms towards the end of the weekend, though uncertainty remains high. && .SHORT TERM... (Today through Thursday) Issued at 326 AM EST Wed Nov 12 2025 Another cold start to the day with temperatures in the upper 20s to 30s across the area. Lighter winds and clear skies overnight have allowed the nocturnal boundary layer to get set up and temperatures have dropped like a rock. Surface high pressure responsible for our cold air the past few days continues to slide to the south of the CWA through today in response to a quick hitting clipper system over the Northeast. Winds out of the SW will bring a return of some surface moisture and warmer temperatures into the area as Gulf modulated air is able to creep in. Highs this afternoon will be in the 50s and 60s areawide. Tonight will see that quick hitting system move to the east. Upper level ridge will begin to slowly slide this way and warming will continue under broad surface high pressure. Winds will move to the NW thanks to the core of the surface high still influencing our area moving to the southwest of us. This will mean air may be a bit drier. Temperatures will warm into the 60s and 70s by the afternoon, continuing our warming trend that will persist into part of the long term forecast. && .LONG TERM... (Thursday night through Tuesday) Issued at 326 AM EST Wed Nov 12 2025 Surface high pressure in place and a building ridge to our west will result in mostly dry and tranquil weather conditions for North and Central Georgia through the weekend. Our next potential for rain now looks to hold off until next week as long term guidance continues to note inconsistencies in timing/extent of this next system. Latest guidance has trended drier for the start of next week keeping any rain at bay until Tuesday. Warm and slightly above normal temperatures are forecast for the next 5-7 days. Forecast highs will range from the 60s in the mountains to mid- /upper 70s elsewhere. Forecast lows start off in the low 40s (upper 30s in the mountains) trending back into the 50s by the weekend. && .AVIATION... (12Z TAFS) Issued at 629 AM EST Wed Nov 12 2025 VFR through TAF period. Mostly SKC with a few passing high clouds at times. Winds today will be W to SW at 7-12 kts with a few gusts at or above 20 kts, especially in metro TAF sites. Winds move to NW and go lighter overnight. No wx or vsby issues expected. //ATL Confidence...12Z Update... High all elements. Lusk && .PRELIMINARY POINT TEMPS/POPS...
