.DISCUSSION...
Gusty southerly to southeasterly winds through this evening into
tonight will maintain humidity levels above 30 percent area wide and
allow for quick overnight moisture recovery. Isolated to scattered
thunderstorms are possible in the late afternoon and evening over
the southern Edwards Plateau and Hill Country. A cold front moves
through the region tonight, bringing chances for showers,
thunderstorms, and wetting rains across South Central Texas. Winds
shift to weaker westerlies and northwesterlies behind the front.
Drier post-frontal air may result in relative humidities dropping
below 25 percent along the Rio Grande Sunday and Monday afternoon
with the potential for some elevated fire weather conditions. Moist
Gulf air should spread across the region by Tuesday and remain in
place for the remainder of next week, accompanied by chances for
additional wetting rains and thunderstorms.
