.DISCUSSION...
Drier air spreading from the west today will bring RH values this
afternoon to 15 to 25 percent over the southern Edwards Plateau
and Rio Grande Plains, resulting in possible elevated fire weather
conditions. Dry conditions are expected throughout the week with
highs in the 70s and 80s Monday through Wednesday. Minimum
RH values may reach 15 to 25 percent over the western Hill
Country, southern Edwards Plateau, and Rio Grande Plains Sunday
through Friday, resulting in potential for elevated to near
critical fire weather conditions as fuels dry. A dry cold front is
forecast to push across South Central Texas Wednesday night into
Thursday morning, lowering moisture regionwide with a possible
expansion of low daytime RH values. Cooler temperatures in the
upper 60s to the middle 70s are expected across South Central
Texas on Thursday in the wake of the frontal passage, however, a
quick wind shift back to the south brings highs back to the mid
and upper 70s on Friday. Winds are forecast to remain below 10 mph
across most of South Central Texas through the week.
