.DISCUSSION...
Dry and warm daytime temperatures continue through at least early
next week. High pressure with dry northeast to east flow will
support lower to mid 20 percent minimum relative humidity values
today for parts of the Hill Country, I-35 corridor, and portions
of the Coastal Plains. Today looks to be the driest day in the
short term. 20-foot winds remain below 10 mph, but dry fuels and
long-term rainfall deficits could still enable locally elevated
fire weather concerns. Some moistening is expected Thursday and
Friday with a return of southerly winds. There are low chances for
isolated showers across the Coastal Plains on Friday afternoon
and east of Highway 77 on Saturday afternoon. A front arrives
around midday Saturday with only minimal decreases in temperatures
and more substantial reduction in relative humidity values to the
upper teens to mid 20s over Val Verde county and vicinity
locations and 20s across most of South Central Texas for Sunday.
