.DISCUSSION...
Dry conditions and warm daytime temperatures continue through at
least the middle of next week. Southeasterly winds will keep
minimum RH values above 30 percent heading into the first part of
the weekend. However, a couple of weak fronts will bring a drier
airmass with minimum RH values dropping into the upper teens and mid
20s percent range across parts of our areas (Val Verde County on
Saturday afternoon) and on Sunday over most of South Central Texas
and mid to upper 20s on Tuesday with the passage of the second
weak front. 20-foot winds will mostly be 10 mph or less. However,
in the wake of the frontal passages, 20- foot winds could briefly
shift to northerlies with 10 to 15 mph possible, potentially
leading to fire weather conditions. This environment is most
likely between Sunday and Tuesday. Regardless, lack of wetting
rains and warm daytime temperatures will allow fuels to continue
to dry. The only rain chances are slight and mainly across the
Coastal Plains to US Highway 77 corridor Friday and Saturday
afternoon.
