...Forecast flooding changed from Moderate to Major severity and
increased in duration for the following rivers in Texas...

  Devils River At Pafford Crossing nr Comstock affecting Val Verde
  County.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Even 6 inches of fast-moving flood water can knock you off your feet
and a depth of 2 feet will float your car. Never try to walk, swim,
or drive through such swift water. If you come upon flood waters,
stop, turn around and go another way.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT FROM THIS AFTERNOON TO EARLY MONDAY
MORNING...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Devils River at Pafford Crossing nr Comstock.

* WHEN...From this afternoon to early Monday morning.

* IMPACTS...At 14.0 feet, (4.3 meters), Major flooding. Life
  threatening flooding for recreationists above Paffords Crossing to
  Amistad Reservoir. Flow is near 150,000 cfs. Livestock should be
  moved from areas vulnerable to major flooding.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 7:15 AM CDT Saturday the stage was 2.4 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 4.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    this afternoon to a crest of 14.6 feet this evening. It will
    then fall below flood stage tomorrow afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 5.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    14.5 feet on 10/11/1981.
