...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 PM CST THIS AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central Texas, including the following
  counties, Bastrop, Caldwell, Hays and Travis.

* WHEN...Until 400 PM CST.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1238 PM CST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges
    indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. This will cause
    urban and small stream flooding. Between 1 and 2 inches of
    rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
    the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
  - Some locations that will experience flooding include...
    Austin, San Marcos, Pflugerville, Kyle, Buda, Lockhart,
    Elgin, Dripping Springs, Wimberley, Austin Bergstrom Int
    Airport, Tanglewood Forest, Manor, West Lake Hills,
    Woodcreek, Rollingwood, Martindale, Uhland, Mustang Ridge,
    Niederwald and Bear Creek.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
