...STRONG THUNDERSTORMS WILL IMPACT CENTRAL OTERO COUNTY THROUGH 745
PM MDT...

At 715 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms 11 miles northeast of Orogrande, moving south at 10
mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible.

Locations impacted include...
Timberon, Hay Canyon, Bug Scuttle Ranch, Surveyors Canyon, The Otero
Mesa, and Oro Grande Range Complex.

This includes Highway 54 in New Mexico between mile markers 38 and
42.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
