Strong winds aloft will mix down to the surface, and a surface trough to the east will result in strong winds at the surface. The result will be strong and gusty west to west- northwest winds, with gusts 45 to 55 mph at times. In addition, dry conditions remain with single digit minimum relative humidity across the lowlands, and low teens across the mountains. This will result in an afternoon of critical fire weather conditions today.
