Fire Weather Planning Forecast for New Mexico and Far West Texas

.DISCUSSION...
Low level moisture east of the Rio Grande will quickly mix out
later this morning, with RH values dropping into the single
digits and lower-10s across most of the area. Slightly breezy
southwest winds will develop this afternoon and again Friday
over SW New Mexico, but will fall short of critical thresholds.

Temperatures will continue to warm up through the weekend, while
minimum RH values will drop to 4 to 12 percent across the region.
Lighter winds will prevail during the hottest and driest period.

We could see some shower and thunderstorm activity push into
Otero and Hudspeth Counties next week, taking some of the edge
off the hot and dry conditions.
