...FLOOD WARNING IN EFFECT UNTIL 745 PM MDT THIS EVENING...
...REPLACES FLASH FLOOD WARNING...

* WHAT...Small stream flooding caused by excessive rainfall is
  expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the
  following county, Dona Ana.

* WHEN...Until 745 PM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Low-water crossings are inundated with water and may not
  be passable. Expect many areas of slow moving or standing water.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 446 PM MDT, emergency management reported heavy rain in
    the warned area due to thunderstorms. Flooding is ongoing. Up
    to 2.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in
    the warned area.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Organ, East Mesa and Northeast Las Cruces.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
