...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 4 AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of south central New Mexico, including the
  following counties, Dona Ana and Sierra.

* WHEN...Until 400 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1247 AM MDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
    thunderstorms. This will cause arroyo and small stream
    flooding. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - This includes the following streams and drainages...
    Anvil Creek, Berrenda Creek, Grande, Rio, Angostura, Arroyo,
    Hersey Arroyo, Lucero Arroyo, Rincon Arroyo and Sotol Creek.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Upham, Rincon, Jornada Range, Radium Springs, Dona Ana,
    Organ, Spaceport America, Peaceful Valley, Rinconcito,
    Angostura, East Mesa, and Portions of Jornada Experimental
    Range.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
