...FLOOD ADVISORY IN EFFECT UNTIL 230 AM MDT EARLY THIS MORNING...

* WHAT...Arroyo and small stream flooding caused by excessive
  rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Northwestern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico, and
  nearby areas of Grant County.

* WHEN...Until 230 AM MDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
  Rises in small streams and normally dry arroyos.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 1232 AM MDT, A cluster of slow moving thunderstorms is
    producting torrential rainfall northwest of Deming,
    particularly along U.S. Highway 180 near Butterfield Trail
    Estates. This will cause arroyo and small stream flooding.
    Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen.
  - Additional rainfall of up to 0.5 to 1 inch is expected over
    the area.
  - Some locations that may experience flooding include...
    Butterfield Trail Estates.
    Portions of U.S. Highway 180 between Deming and Hurley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
