Southeastern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico... * Until 700 AM MDT. * At 355 AM MDT, An area of heavy rain persists over southeastern Luna County. Radar estimates 1 to 1.5 inches of rain has fallen within an hour, mainly just south and east of Columbus. This is an area of poor drainage, and deep ponding of water is likely to occur, including in agricultural land east of Columbus, and along Highway 9. Heavy rain is drifting north towards the village of Columbus as well, and flooding may develop there in the next hour or so. HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms. SOURCE...Radar.
