The National Weather Service in El Paso Tx/Santa Teresa has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  Southeastern Luna County in southwestern New Mexico...

* Until 700 AM MDT.

* At 355 AM MDT, An area of heavy rain persists over southeastern
  Luna County. Radar estimates 1 to 1.5 inches of rain has fallen
  within an hour, mainly just south and east of Columbus. This is an
  area of poor drainage, and deep ponding of water is likely to
  occur, including in agricultural land east of Columbus, and along
  Highway 9. Heavy rain is drifting north towards the village of
  Columbus as well, and flooding may develop there in the next hour
  or so.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Radar.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Columbus.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads.
