...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 645 PM MDT THIS
EVENING FOR SOUTH CENTRAL SIERRA COUNTY...

At 538 PM MDT, Thunderstorms have long since moved out of the
warning area, but runoff is likely still inundating arroyos that
cross Highway 27 in Lake Valley, and further downstream towards the
Arrey area.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Radar.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, low water
         crossings, and other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Arrey, Lake Valley.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Remain alert for flooding even in locations not receiving rain.
Arroyos, streams, and rivers can become raging killer currents in a
matter of minutes, even from distant rainfall.
