The National Weather Service in Eureka has issued a

* Special Marine Warning for...
  Humboldt Bay Bar...
  Pt St George to Cape Mendocino out 10 nm...

* Until 600 PM PDT.

* At 516 PM PDT, a severe thunderstorm capable of producing
  waterspouts was located 12 NM west of Eureka, moving
  east-northeast at 15 knots.

  HAZARD...Waterspouts and wind gusts to 34 knots.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated.

  IMPACT...Waterspouts can easily overturn boats and create
           locally hazardous seas. Small craft could be damaged
           in briefly higher winds and suddenly higher waves.

* Locations impacted include...
  Mainly open waters of Humboldt Bay Bar and Pt St George to Cape
  Mendocino out 10 nm.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Move to safe harbor until hazardous weather passes.

Frequent lightning is occurring with this storm. If caught on the
open water stay below deck if possible, keep away from ungrounded
metal objects.

Thunderstorms can produce sudden waterspouts. Waterspouts can easily
overturn boats and create locally hazardous seas. Seek safe harbor
immediately.
