.DISCUSSION...Periodic light rain showers are expected tonight with
amounts generally under a tenth of an inch in 6 hours. Rainfall
amounts will increase Friday morning with 0.25 to 0.35 inches in 6
hours expected to develop by 10 AM. These moderate to heavier rain
rates will likely continue into the afternoon and then start to
wind down to less than a tenth of an inch in 6 hours Friday
evening through Saturday. A period of relatively drier weather
with only a 10-20% chance for sprinkles or a few hundredths of an
inch will follow in a cold airmass Saturday night and Sunday.
Storm total rainfall from 5 AM Friday to 5 AM Saturday will range
from 1.0 to 1.75 inches for the higher elevations and western
slopes to 0.50 to 1.0 inches for lower elevations and valleys.

A colder storm will swoop down across the area on Monday, bringing
another 0.25 to 1.25 inches of rainfall and some snow above
about 5500 to 6000 feet through Monday night. There is much
greater uncertainty with precipitation amounts and duration
Tuesday and Wednesday. Right now, there is a 20% chance for
amounts around 0.10 inches or less in 6 hours. It does look
to be much colder with low chances for high mountain snow.
