.DISCUSSION...High pressure will build over the region today
and Wednesday, resulting in a warming and drying trend. Due to
the weak pressure gradient, winds on the burn site will be light
and largely terrain-driven (upslope during the day, downslope at
night). Transport winds remain light (generally under 8 mph),
which may limit smoke dispersion. Expect strong surface inversions
to develop overnight, trapping smoke in lower drainages.
Conditions will remain dry through Wednesday afternoon. A weather
system approaches Thursday (Thanksgiving), bringing cooler
temperatures and a chance of light rain, which may impact burn
consumption or mop-up operations.
