.DISCUSSION...A low pressure system will approach the West Coast today
bringing gusty southerly winds to the North Coast this weekend. A long
fetch of subtropical moisture will push into the coastal terrain late this
afternoon through tonight, resulting in moderate to heavy rainfall for
Del Norte and far northern Humboldt Counties. Lighter rain amounts are
forecast for the remainder of the area. Moist conditions with mild
temperatures will continue on Sunday with rain confined mostly to the
northern portion of the area. Another low pressure system will spin
up offshore Sunday night and stronger southerly and southeasterly winds
are expected for the North Coast region by Monday. Conditions will dry
out on Tuesday. A warming trend is then expected mid to late next week.
