...The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
California...

  Mad River near Arcata affecting Humboldt County.

  Eel River at Fernbridge affecting Humboldt County.

  Van Duzen River Near Bridgeville affecting Humboldt County.

For the Eel River...including Fernbridge...Major flooding is
forecast.
For the Mad River...including Arcata...Minor flooding is forecast.
For the Van Duzen River...including Bridgeville...Minor flooding is
forecast.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Motorists should not attempt to drive around barricades or drive
cars through flooded areas.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.

...FLOOD WARNING NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL SATURDAY EVENING...

* WHAT...Major flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Eel River at Fernbridge.

* WHEN...Until Saturday evening.

* IMPACTS...At 25.0 feet, Severe flooding of the Eel River Delta
  including areas northwest of Loleta and the western portion of
  Cannibal Island Road. Numerous road closures in low-lying areas,
  including Highway 211 to Ferndale. A Special Action Advisory is
  issued to all owners of livestock in low-lying areas near the
  river. Appropriate action should be taken to protect livestock.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 PM PST Thursday the stage was 17.9 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late this evening to a crest of 25.0 feet early tomorrow
    afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage early Saturday
    afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 20.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    24.9 feet on 01/11/2017.

AFTERNOON...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Van Duzen River near Bridgeville.

* WHEN...From late tonight to tomorrow afternoon.

* IMPACTS...At 18.0 feet, Minor flooding of Highway 36 near Grizzly
  Creek State Park and in lower portions of the State Park itself.
  Moderate flooding of River Bar Road in the Starvation Flats area.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:15 PM PST Thursday the stage was 12.8 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 17.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river is expected to rise above flood stage
    late tonight to a crest of 17.8 feet tomorrow morning. It
    will then fall below flood stage late tomorrow morning.
  - Flood stage is 17.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    17.8 feet on 03/18/1975.

EVENING...

* WHAT...Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE...Mad River near Arcata.

* WHEN...From Friday morning to tomorrow evening.

* IMPACTS...At 23.0 feet, Significant flooding of portions of Mad
  River Beach Road and adjacent farmlands is likely. May cause water
  to flow across roads to Tyee City.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
  - At 8:00 PM PST Thursday the stage was 16.5 feet.
  - Bankfull stage is 22.0 feet.
  - Forecast...The river will rise above flood stage tomorrow
    morning to 23.1 feet late tomorrow morning. It will then fall
    below flood stage tomorrow afternoon.
  - Flood stage is 22.0 feet.
  - Flood History...This crest compares to a previous crest of
    22.7 feet on 01/18/2016.
