Moderate to fresh breezes and steep seas are forecast nearshore. Winds ease slightly tonight and Saturday, especially south of Cape Mendocino, but remain strong in the northern outer waters. Seas outside the strongest winds will gradually ease, but are likely to remain steep through Saturday.
