Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK
0119 AM CST Sat Nov 08 2025

Valid 081200Z - 091200Z

...Synopsis...
A shortwave mid-level trough is expected to amplify across the
central Plains through the day Saturday along the southwestern
periphery of a longwave trough across the eastern CONUS. This will
push a strong cold front from the central Plains southeastward to
the Texas coast by 12Z Sunday. Behind the front, strong surface flow
(25-30 mph) is expected across portions of the central High Plains
and westward toward the Front Range. With RH values near 15-20%
expected and dry/cured grasses in the region, an Elevated fire
weather risk area was maintained in this region. Some transient fire
weather risk may also be realized across portions of the southern
Texas Panhandle, but at this time, it appears too brief to warrant
the introduction of Elevated highlights in this region.
