Day 1 Fire Weather Outlook
NWS Storm Prediction Center Norman OK

Valid 091200Z - 101200Z

...NO CRITICAL AREAS...

...Synopsis...
An upper ridge will remain in place across the central and southern
CONUS, while an upper trough impinges on the West Coast, and a
progressive mid-level shortwave trough amplifies over the Great
Lakes today. Surface high pressure will overspread much of the U.S.
east of the Mississippi River, promoting quiescent fire weather
conditions. Some dry or breezy conditions may accompany southerly
flow ahead of a surface low over the Great Basin. However, the lack
of favorably overlapping dry and windy conditions, atop fuels
receptive to fire spread, preclude any fire weather highlights this
outlook.
