...A strong thunderstorm will impact portions of northeastern Keokuk,
southeastern Iowa, northern Washington, northwestern Louisa and
central Johnson Counties through 1045 PM CDT...

At 1004 PM CDT, the public reported a strong thunderstorm near
Parnell, or 16 miles southeast of Marengo, moving east at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Winds in excess of 40 mph and minor flooding.

SOURCE...Public.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could cause minor tree limb damage and blow
         around unsecured objects. Slowing or redirecting of traffic
         due to ponding or flowing water. Closure of waterfront
         access due to flooding.

Locations impacted include...
Iowa City, Coralville, North Liberty, Williamsburg, Kalona, Tiffin,
Wellman, University Heights, North English, Riverside, Oxford, Hills,
South English, Parnell, Kinross, Oakdale, Richmond, Keota, Frytown,
and Windham.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 80 in Iowa between mile markers 218 and 248.
 Interstate 380 between mile markers 1 and 3.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is occurring and may lead to localized flooding.
Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways. Stay away from
flooded areas. Report any flooding to local law enforcement.

If the heavy rain continues, a flash flood warning may be needed.
