Please see the latest Flood Statements and Flood Warnings for details. .DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...SATURDAY THROUGH THURSDAY There is a chance for a decaying line of thunderstorms to move across portions of eastern Iowa and northwest Illinois Saturday morning. Gusty winds, lightning and heavy downpours would be the primary threats. Hot and humid conditions are anticipated Saturday with peak heat indices in the mid 90s to around 100 degrees mainly south of Highway 30. Saturday evening through Monday, we will see persistent chances for showers and thunderstorms. There is an increasing threat for periods of very heavy rainfall, mainly from Saturday evening through Sunday night, which may lead to some areas of flash flooding. A very humid air mass may result in hourly rainfall rates between 1 to 3 inches from the strongest storms. This heavy rain may exacerbate any ongoing river flooding or lead to new flooding on area rivers. A Flood Watch remains in effect from Saturday afternoon through Monday afternoon. Also for Saturday into Saturday night, the Storm Prediction Center has a Slight Risk for severe storms for much of the area, with the primary threat damaging winds. .SPOTTER INFORMATION STATEMENT... Spotter activation is not anticipated tonight, but may be needed Saturday and Saturday night. $$
