...FLASH FLOOD WARNING REMAINS IN EFFECT UNTIL 915 AM CDT THIS
MORNING FOR SOUTHWESTERN MUSCATINE, CENTRAL KEOKUK, NORTHWESTERN
LOUISA AND WASHINGTON COUNTIES...

At 341 AM CDT, local law enforcement reported several streets in
Washington were flooded. Radar and gauges indicate between 2 and 3
inches of rain have fallen, particularly from around West Chester to
Washington to near Columbus Junction. Additional rainfall amounts of
1 to 2 inches are possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is
already occurring.

HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

SOURCE...Law enforcement reported.

IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban areas,
         highways, streets and underpasses as well as other poor
         drainage and low-lying areas.

Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Washington, Sigourney, Columbus Junction, Wellman, Ainsworth,
  Conesville, Columbus City, Crawfordsville, Keswick, South English,
  Harper, Kinross, Hayesville, Cotter, Wyman, Keota, Fredonia, West
  Chester, Webster and Washington County Fairgrounds.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
