During the Small Craft Advisory, expect sustained winds up to 23 knots from the west with gusts up to 31 knots. The largest significant waves will be 3 feet with a potential maximum wave height of 4 feet. * WHERE...Michigan Waters of Lake Erie from Detroit River to North Cape MI. * WHEN...During the Low Water Advisory, the maximum winds are expected around 2 PM EST Thursday with the largest waves expected around 2 PM EST Thursday. During the Small Craft Advisory, the maximum winds are expected around 3 PM EST Thursday with the largest waves expected around 3 PM EST Thursday. * IMPACTS...Conditions will be hazardous to small craft. Below normal water levels will result in hazardous navigating conditions. * ADDITIONAL DETAILS...West winds have resulted in low water on the western basin of Lake Erie. As of 2:30 PM EST, the water level at Toledo was 4 inches above low water datum. The critical mark for safe naviation is 5 inches below low water datum. The water level is expected to lower to near the critical mark this evening into early tonight. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Inexperienced mariners, especially those operating smaller vessels, should avoid navigating in hazardous conditions.
