The National Weather Service in Detroit/Pontiac has issued a

* Flash Flood Warning for...
  East Central Washtenaw County in southeastern Michigan...
  West Central Wayne County in southeastern Michigan...

* Until 930 PM EDT.

* At 626 PM EDT, trained weather spotters reported thunderstorms
  producing heavy rain across the warned area. Between 2 and 3
  inches of rain have fallen. The expected rainfall rate is 1 to 3
  inches in 1 hour. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are
  possible in the warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected
  to begin shortly.

  HAZARD...Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.

  SOURCE...Trained spotters south of Ypsilanti reported 2.50
           inches in 1 hour.

  IMPACT...Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
           areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
           other poor drainage and low-lying areas.

* Some locations that will experience flash flooding include...
  Livonia, Romulus, Ypsilanti, Canton, Dearborn, Belleville, Willis,
  Westland, Dearborn Heights, Garden City, Inkster, Wayne, Whittaker
  and Pittsfield Township.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

Turn around, don`t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
