The National Weather Service in Des Moines has issued a

* Tornado Warning for...
  Southern Lucas County in south central Iowa...
  Southwestern Monroe County in south central Iowa...
  Northern Wayne County in south central Iowa...
  Northwestern Appanoose County in south central Iowa...

* Until 1000 PM CDT.

* At 908 PM CDT, severe thunderstorms capable of producing a tornado
  were located along a line extending from near Derby to 4 miles
  northwest of Millerton to near Allerton, moving east at 65 mph.

  HAZARD...Tornado.

  SOURCE...Radar indicated rotation.

  IMPACT...Flying debris will be dangerous to those caught without
           shelter. Mobile homes will be damaged or destroyed.
           Damage to roofs, windows, and vehicles will occur.  Tree
           damage is likely.

* These dangerous storms will be near...
  Chariton, Corydon, Rathbun Lake, Russell, Millerton, and Red Haw
  Lake State Park around 915 PM CDT.
  Melrose around 920 PM CDT.
  Mystic and Honey Creek State Park around 925 PM CDT.

Other locations impacted by these tornadic storms include Russell,
Red Haw Lake State Park, Melrose, Derby, Millerton, Chariton
Municipal Airport, Allerton, Mystic, and Honey Creek State Park.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

TAKE COVER NOW! Move to a basement or an interior room on the lowest
floor of a sturdy building. Avoid windows. If you are outdoors, in a
mobile home, or in a vehicle, move to the closest substantial shelter
and protect yourself from flying debris.

Tornadoes are extremely difficult to see and confirm at night. Do not
