...Elevated Fire Danger Today...

WHAT...Strong winds from the south at 20 to 25 mph with gusts to
35 to 40 mph, dry cropland, above normal temperatures, and low
relative humidity between 30 and 36 percent will lead to elevated
fire danger today.

WHERE...All of Central Iowa

WHEN...Noon to 7pm today

IMPACTS...Any fires that ignite will spread rapidly, especially
in cropland.

PREPAREDNESS AND PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS...Burning is discouraged under
these conditions. Also, take care to prevent the start of accidental
fires when smoking or operating vehicles and farm equipment
around dry vegetation or crops.
