...Brief Period of Snow this Afternoon over Central and North
Central Iowa...

WHAT...Around a two hour burst of moderate to heavy snow can be
expected this afternoon. With wind gusts of 25 to 35 mph,
visibilities will drop to less than a mile during the periods of
heavier snowfall. Amounts from a dusting to two inches may occur
in a short time.

WHERE...Much of central and north central Iowa, including
Interstate 35 from Ames to the Minnesota border.

WHEN...through 3pm to 5pm, ending southwest to northeast through
that time.

IMPACTS...Roads may quickly become slick and snow covered with hazardous
driving conditions and slower than normal commute times due to
this snow and reduced visibility.

PREPAREDNESS AND PRECAUTIONARY ACTIONS...Motorists should be careful
and prepare for quick changes in visibility and road conditions in a
short distance as snow moves through an area.
