...A STRONG THUNDERSTORM WILL IMPACT NORTHWESTERN POLK...SOUTHWESTERN
STORY...SOUTHEASTERN BOONE AND EASTERN DALLAS COUNTIES THROUGH 1100
PM CDT...

At 1024 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Woodward, or 8 miles east of Perry, moving northeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD...Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail and additional
         heavy rainfall of one to two inches.

SOURCE...Radar indicated.

IMPACT...Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
         unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
         possible. Ponding of water on roadways, low visibilities,
         and rises in small streams and creeks.

Locations impacted include...
Ankeny, Urbandale, Johnston, Clive, Waukee, Boone, Grimes, Perry,
Adel, Bondurant, Polk City, Saylorville, Madrid, Dallas Center,
Slater, Granger, Woodward, Saylorville Lake, Big Creek Lake, and
Boone Speedway.

This includes the following highways...
 Interstate 35 between mile markers 89 and 97.
 Interstate 80 between mile markers 127 and 133.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
