Weather Summary for Iowa
National Weather Service Des Moines IA
436 AM CST Tue Nov 26 2024

Today:

Clear skies allowed for temperatures to drop into the teens for much
of the area overnight. Clouds will start to move in by around midday,
covering the area by the end of the day. Winds were light and
variable. Expect southerly winds from 10 to 15 mph by this afternoon.
Highs for the southwest half of the state will recover into the 40s.

Tonight and beyond:

The overcast skies will help keep lows warmer than the last. Lows will
be near 20 northwest to near freezing southeast. Wednesday will offer
one more day with 40 degree highs in the south, but a passing system
with some rain will knock highs back into the 30s for Thanksgiving.
Temperatures are expected to become even colder by the weekend with
highs in the teens and 20s. Some snow will be possible in the south on
Saturday.
