...Computer System Upgrade to Impact Central Iowa NOAA Weather
Radio Broadcasts...

Beginning at 8 AM on Tuesday, April 22 all of the 14 NOAA Weather
Radio broadcasts provided by the National Weather Service (NWS)
office in Des Moines, Iowa will go off the air due to a computer
system upgrade. A listing of NOAA Weathr Radio transmitters that
will be impacted can be found at weather.gov/nws/wfo_list?WFO=DMX.
NOAA Weather Radio broadcasts are expected to return to service
midday Thursday, April 24th.

During periods of planned or unplanned outages it is important to
have multiple ways to receive warning information. These
alternative sources include: local television or radio, weather
apps on your mobile device, Alert Iowa, and at the NWS website at
weather.gov/desmoines.
