This Hazardous Weather Outlook is for portions of central Iowa.

.DAY ONE...Today and tonight

Scattered to widespread shower and storm chances will exist today.
Locally heavy rainfall amounts may lead to ponding water or minor
flash flooding.

.DAYS TWO THROUGH SEVEN...Monday through Saturday

Heavy rain and thunderstorms are possible Monday. Some storms may
be severe, especially in the afternoon. Heavy rainfall and
training storms may result in flash flooding. Heavy rain and
storm chances persist through at least mid- week. River flooding
and flash flooding is possible.

product (HWO) on September 30th, 2026. Weather hazards and
outlooks will continue to be provided through the standard
forecast channels, including weather briefing packets, forecast
discussions, weather story graphics, the experimental graphical
hazardous weather outlook, and updated hazard messaging. All
local products and visual tools are accessible directly at
weather.gov/desmoines.
