.DISCUSSION...
Surface high pressure will continue to dominate the forecast
through this afternoon and early evening. However, a weak cold
front is expected to drift southeast into the area later this
evening and pass through the area overnight tonight into
Saturday morning. Ahead of the front, southwesterly winds are
forecast to develop with gusts upwards of 30 mph but mainly in
the northwestern counties. The front itself will bring increasing
chances for showers and storms through the overnight with a lull
in activity possible on Saturday but daytime heating will create
renewed shower and storm chances Saturday afternoon but mainly
along and south of the I-80 corridor. An active weather pattern
with heavy rain threats will exist through the weekend into next
week.
